Jamie Jay Johnson

Jamie is a double BAFTA, triple Broadcast, British Comedy Award, British Independent Film Award, Grierson, National Television Award and RTS Award nominated director and writer based in London.

His first feature, Sounds Like Teen Spirit, won the Special Jury Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and the Hitchcock D'Argent Audience Award at Dinard International Film Festival.

He makes affectionately comic films, animations and documentaries about breakfast cereals, the Minigolf World Championships, robot dogs, medievally wooing Swedish Princesses, a Holiday Around his Bedroom, Karl Pilkington Idiot Abroading, tooth brushing etiquette, the Fresh Meat student houseshare, an enraged nomadic father, the losers of the Junior Eurovision and the slowest ever swimmer in Olympic history.

Jamie has worked with some of his favourite comedy talent including Karl Pilkington, Jack Whitehall, Steve Merchant, Jamie Demetriou, Flight of the Conchords' Rhys Darby, Robert Bathurst, Katy Wix, Tim Key, Hammed Aminashaun, Ricky Gervais, Joe Thomas, John Thompson, Tom Davis, Charlotte Ritchie, Daniel Simonsen, Cardinal Burns and People Just Do Nothing's Steve Stamp and Asim Chaudhry.

Jamie is currently completing a series of mock-doc comedy shorts staring People Just Do Nothing's Asim Chaudhry and Steve Stamp for Google's 20 year anniversary and developing his own mock-doc comedy feature for Film4.
For commercials, music videos and branded content Jamie is represented by Rattling Stick.
